The wedding is over, the last guests have gone home, and you want to say thank you. Here are 25 short, warm messages for everyone, from elders to the friends who danced all night, in English and Hindi.

When to send your thank-you messages

Send them while the memories are fresh, ideally within a week or two. Thank-you notes are not a strong tradition at Indian weddings, which is exactly why guests remember them.

If your invitation link is still live, guests may revisit it. On VowStory it stays live for one week, three months or six months after the wedding, depending on the plan.

A simple formula

  • a greeting with their name
  • thank you, for coming, for the blessings, or for the gift
  • one line about what it meant, or a shared memory
  • both your names at the end

How to send your thank-you messages

  • Elders: call first, then send a short message, such as 6, 8 or 9.
  • Close family and friends: send a personal chat, ideally with a photo of the two of you with them.
  • Everyone else: a broadcast list sends a warm common message as a personal chat. Here is how broadcast lists work.
